Trends in e-Discovery:         Cloud and Collection

This survey, conducted in conjunction with Enterprise Strategy Group, highlights the rise of litigation, the growing impact of cloud computing and social media on electronic discovery, and the enterprise trend toward bringing e-discovery in-house.

Key survey findings include:

• 70% of respondents saw an increase in the number of lawsuits and regulatory inquiries from 2009 to 2010, with 70% expecting the same in 2011

• 60% anticipate discovery of cloud-based applications in 2011, double the 30% who reported cloud applications in-scope in 2010

• 93% intend to bring one or more segments of the e-discovery process in-house within the next 12 months
